Father Arrested In Apple Valley On Suspicion Of Kidnapping 2-Year-Old

The Amber Alert issued late Sunday night for a 2-year-old was canceled after the child was found safe, authorities said.

APPLE VALLEY, MN — One man was arrested in Apple Valley early Monday morning in the abduction of his son, a 2-year-old boy named Yusef.

Shannon Ingram was arrested at 4 a.m. on suspicion of kidnapping and the violation of a protection order, according to court records. He was booked into Dakota County Jail at about 7 a.m.

Ingram's initial court appearance is scheduled for 12 p.m. Monday.

At about 10:20 p.m. on Sunday, police issued an Amber Alert in the Twin Cities metro area that said 2-year-old Yusef was taken by his non-custodial father.

The child was later found safe Monday morning, and the alert was canceled.
