If you're lucky enough to be outside today, take advantage of it. It's going to be a beautiful day (and week).

- We’ll have sunny skies today, with a high near 79 and mostly calm winds, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight’s low will be around 51, with mostly clear skies and south-southeast winds around 5 mph.
- An “” class will be offered at 6:30 tonight at Rosemount Middle School. The cost is $39. For more information, call (651) 423-7920 or register online at the District 196 community education website.
- Watch out when you’re driving in and around Rosemount; , and police won’t hesitate to ticket lead-footed drivers. (Actually, it’s a pretty good idea to watch out when you’re driving anywhere, not just in Rosemount.)
- A program on security concerns on the Horn of Africa will be offered at 4 p.m. today at the Galaxie Library in Apple Valley. The U.S. has monitored the Horn of Africa since the early 1990s; discussion will center on the country protecting its national interests while mitigating dangerous conditions in the region. The program is free.
- Today’s a good day for musical birthdays. It’s Chubby Checker’s 70th, Lindsey Buckingham’s 62nd, Stevie Ray Vaughan’s 57th and Gwen Stefani’s 42nd. How’s that for an all-star lineup?
