Flint Hills Resources Earns Energy Star Partner Of The Year

This award is the highest honor bestowed by the EPA.

ROSEMOUNT, MN — Flint Hills Resources, a subsidiary of Koch Resources INC, announced that it was named Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year Award for 2022. This award is the highest honor bestowed by the EPA, Flint Resources said.

Flint Hills Resources Pine Bend Refinery in Rosemount produces transportation fuels used throughout the Midwest, it said.

This is the second consecutive year Flint Hills Resources has won the award, moving it into Energy Star's Sustained Excellence category, the company said.

Winners of the award lead the industry in the production, sale and adoption of energy-efficient products, the company said.

Since 1997, the Pine Bend Refinery has cut emissions of pollutants by over 70 percent, Flint Resources said.

"Flint Hills Resources Pine Bend refinery is focused on achieving superior energy management and have recently made significant investments in efficiency projects at our site," Geoff Glasrud, vice president and manufacturing manager for the Flint Hills Resources Pine Bend refinery, said. "We are proud to be among the most efficient refineries in the U.S. and grateful for this recognition from the EPA."
