You've got two chances to catch a south-of-the-river choral show this weekend. Looking for a little more rhythm beyond the melody and harmony? Check out a rhythmic show, or move your own body to Latin grooves.

Why Go: Let your friends and neighbors entertain you with the two choral groups' only concerts of the fall season. Songs range from sacred texts to contemporary musical stylings, and include a collaborative piece between the two choirs.

When/Where: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday,

Why Go: Honor U.S. military veterans as well as active personnel by giving blood, remembering those who served and those who have needed and will need blood transfusions.

When/Where: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Greenleaf Elementary School

Why Go: Support your local Girl Scouts by picking up a few things at the Valley Lake Girl Scouts annual craft and bake sale. Get a jump on that holiday shopping and know that your gifts will be one-of-a-kind. (Bonus: The scouts also will collect nonperishable food items for local food shelves.)

When/Where: 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Burnsville Performing Arts Center

Why Go: Think the other tap dancers you've seen have rhythm? Try these tappers—they've got rhythm, as well as music and acting abilities, in a show that combines all three.

Price: $29 and $34

When/Where: 8:30 to 10 p.m. Saturday,

Why Go: Get your blood pumping with a Zumba Latin dance party. Continue into the evening with a DJ and dancing afterward.

Price: $10 for Zumba; free entry after 10 p.m.
