Grandma's Marathon 2012 Race Results for Apple Valley, Rosemount Runners
Local residents laced up their running shoes this weekend in Duluth.

Thousands took to the rolling terrain of Duluth and the North Shore this weekend for the 36th annual Grandma's Marathon and the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon, including several dozen from .
From Apple Valley, 29 runners completed the full marathon, and from Rosemount there were 14. In the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon, 31 Apple Valley runners and 12 Rosemount runners finished.
Michael Bassler, 20, finished with the top time among full marathon runners from Apple Valley—3 hours, 13 minutes and 26 seconds. He finished 343rd of 5,787 runners, and 300th out of 3,424 male runners.

From Rosemount, Jim Browning, 40, had the top marathon time, with 3:14:39. He finished 365th overall and 320th among males.
Rosemount's top female finisher was Miranda Bryan, 29, with a 3:57:05 to finish 1,872nd overall and 484th among women. Apple Valley's top female finisher was Jennifer Rogers, 22, with a 3:48:57 to finish 1,477th overall and 354th among female runners.

The marathon was won by Berhanu Girma, 25 of Cambridge. Everlyne Lagat, 31, of Albuquerque, led the women. In the half-marathon, Jack Delehanty, 25, of Minneapolis placed first overall, and Kelly Brinkman of Bloomington, 31, placed first among women.
