Lakeville Paralympian Seidenfeld Wins Gold In Table Tennis

He was cheered on by his father and coach, who himself is a four-time Paralympic medalist.

LAKEVILLE, MN — Lakeville's Ian Seidenfeld won a gold medal in Paralympic Table Tennis at the 202o Paralympics in Tokyo on Saturday.

Seidenfeld beat defending Paralympic champion Peter Rosenmeier of Denmark 3-0.

The scores were 11-9, 11-8 and 11-8.

After winning, he ran to hug his father and coach, Mitchell Seidenfeld, who himself is a four-time Paralympic table tennis medalist.

Mitchell told Team USA that his son's gold medal meant more to him than the one he himself earned in Barcelona in 1992.
