Life Time Athletic Club Could Come To Rosemount

ROSEMOUNT, MN — A new Life Time Fitness athletic club could be coming to Rosemount.

The city said that it recently signed a purchase agreement for a 29-acre parcel at the corner of County Rd 42 and Akron Avenue. City Council also signed off on a letter of intent with Life Time to build the athletic club on the parcel, according to the city's website.

The option currently being considered for the athletic club would take up 11 acres, with the rest being sold for retail expansion and infrastructure, the city said.

Construction on this project could begin as early as 2023, according to the city.

If the partnership is completed, Rosemount residents would get discounted membership to the athletic club, as well as other benefits, the city said.

"Life Time has secured its place as the premier club operator with the best programming and experiences for the entire family," Rosemount's Mayor Bill Droste said. "This partnership would be a forward thinking and nimble way to achieve multiple goals for our residents while letting the private sector do what it does best."

According to the city, the next steps in this process include negotiating with Life Time, and finalizing design, bidding and construction.
