Minneapolis Man Accused of Soliciting, Blackmailing 15-year-old Girl
Police say Deuvontay Shelby Charles, 18, cajoled an Apple Valley teen into sending him explicit photos, then threatened to publish them on Facebook if she refused his sexual demands.
One Minneapolis man faces felony charges after he allegedly coaxed a teen into sending him nude pictures, then posted at least one of them to Facebook.
Deuvontay Shelby Charles, 18, has been charged with two counts of solicitation of a child, which carries a maximum penalty of three years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
On Jan. 29, the Apple Valley Police Department received a complaint from a 15-year-old girl, who said that Charles had convinced her to send him pictures of her naked body, then more sexually explicit photos. Charles then allegedly tried to coerce the girl into having sex by threatening to post the photos to Facebook and Instagram. Charles partially made good on his threat, police say. Officers found a Facebook page created by Charles with at least one of the pictures posted on the page. Charles made his first appearance in court on Friday. His next hearing is scheduled for April 2.

He apparently has no prior criminal record.
