Nonprofits With Apple Valley Ties Make List of Top-100 Revenue Earners

The Star Tribune's annual Nonprofit 100 report includes groups with Apple Valley branches and facilities.

Each year, the Star Tribune puts together its Nonprofit 100 report, which shows the largest nonprofits in the state based on revenue.

Included this most recently released list, which is formed mostly from data from the organizations' 990 forms from 2010, are a handful of organizations, though not based in Apple Valley, that have facilities in the city.

They are, listed by rank and with 2010 revenue:

  • No. 28 Ecumen: $132.8 million
  • No. 42 Augustana Care Corp: $95.5 million
  • No. 52 Saint Mary's University of Minnesota: $75.9 million
  • No. 98 Planned Parenthood MN/ND/SD: $30.3 million

Saint Mary's is one of the participants in the program.

has a branch in the Shops on Galaxie center.

The Minnesota nonprofit with the greatest revenue in 2010 was Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, based in Eagan, with $9,035.2 million.

The report also lists CEO compensation in 2010:

  • Ecumen's Kathryn Roberts: $432,000
  • Augustana Care Corp.'s Timothy Tucker: $379,200
  • Saint Mary's University's William Mann: $29,500
  • Planned Parenthood's Sarah Stoesz: $390,400
