The owners of Rosemount Crossing have sued a former tenant, but the man they seek seems to have flown the coop in more ways than one.
The owners of the strip mall on the corner of Highway 3 and County Road 42 say that Branden Zahnle, of Inver Grove Heights, was evicted from the space at 14875 South Robert Trail, which once held SOL 360 Tanning Studio. At the time, more than two years remained on the 10-year lease signed by Zahnle, which was set to expire on Jan. 31, 2015.
The company has sued him claiming that Zahnle breached contract and benefited from unjust enrichment. According to court documents associated with the case, the company says that Zahnle must pay all past due rent and all rent due through the end of the lease term, with late fees and interest: About $158,158 in all.
However, the company has yet to serve Zahnle with the suit, for one simple reason: They can't find him. Multiple attempts to mail the summons or deliver it in person to his last known address at 5911 Candace Avenue in Inver Grove were unsuccessful. A search of U.S. Postal Service records showed that his mail was being forwarded to an address in St. Paul, but when agents with a paper service tried to find him there current residents said they'd never heard of Zahnle.
His whereabouts were unknown as late as July 10.
