Police: Man Violated No-Contact Order, Was Found in Rosemount Home With Brass Knuckles

Police say they found Deondra Redmon hiding beneath the woman's bed, with a pair of brass knuckles.

A Golden Valley man has been charged with violating a no-contact order with a woman in Rosemount in an incident that allegedly included hiding under a bed in the woman’s house when police arrived, in the possession of brass knuckles.

Deondra Redmon, 30, is charged with violating a domestic abuse no-contact order, a felony that carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

According to the criminal complaint, police were called to a Rosemount home on July 22 to investigate a domestic incident.

The caller said the man, Redmon, was “being physical” with the woman who had the no-contact order against him, that he might have brass knuckles and that there were numerous children in the house.

Police arrived and spoke to the woman, and found Redmon hiding under a bed in one of the home’s upstairs bedrooms. They searched him and found a pair of brass knuckles, the complaint says.

A domestic abuse no-contact order was issued June 4 by a Hennepin County judge, preventing Redmon from having any contact with the woman.

Redmon’s criminal record includes convictions for domestic assault, interfering with a 911 call and violating a no-contact order, all in 2011.

Redmon remains in the Dakota County Jail on a $50,000 bond. An omnibus hearing in his case is scheduled Aug. 14 in Dakota County District Court in Hastings.
