That's what Apple Valley officials want to know. They're encouraging locals to complete a residential irrigation survey, offering a chance at a $50 Visa gift card in return.

"The University of Minnesota and Metropolitan Council are working on ways to reduce residential water use, specifically irrigation, and want input from residents," they said, in a community alert.
