Rosemount Names '2021 Employee Of The Year'
The City of Rosemount has named Sergeant Jeremiah Simonson its 2021 Employee of the Year.
ROSEMOUNT, MN — The City of Rosemount has named Sergeant Jeremiah Simonson its 2021 Employee of the Year.
Simonson has worked for Rosemount Police Department for 20 years, the city said.
He was selected for going "above and beyond the call of duty," according to City of Rosemount. Simonson has also made an effort to focus on community engagement, the city said.

Here are some of the initiatives Simonson has led:
- Organizing a softball tournament that raised over $40,000 for the Invisible Wounds Project.
- Running an annual charity basketball tournament that has raised over $50,000 for families of Minnesota officers killed in the line of duty.
- Continuing to grow the Pink Patch Project throughout Minnesota.
- Helping over 30 agencies launch programs and raise $125,000 for American Cancer Society.
Simonson has also been in leadership roles in the Rosemount field training program, Rosemount Reserves program and was selected to drive the lead car in the motorcade that brought the president to town, the City of Rosemount said.

"We congratulate and thank Jeremiah for his exceptional efforts as he serves our organization, our community, and the law enforcement community through his leadership and selflessness," the city wrote on its website.
