Rosemount Plans Housing Development For Former UMN Land: Report
The City of Rosemount is planning to build a massive housing development on Amber Fields.
ROSEMOUNT, MN — The City of Rosemount is planning to build a massive housing development on Amber Fields, land that was previously owned by University of Minnesota, according to a report by The St. Paul Pioneer Press.
The 435-acre section of land, south of Dakota County Road 42 and West of Dakota County Technical College, could soon hold over 2,000 homes, the report said.
Five acres alongside County Road 42 have been set aside for commercial development and a school is being planned for a 20-acre site, according to the report.

Construction on all of Amber Fields will take nearly eight years, the publication reported.
