Senior Spotlights: Abbey Singleton, Madison Ihrke

School: Apple Valley High School

What sports do you play during the year? Cross country, track and field

Who was your favorite athlete growing up? Growing up, my favorite athlete was Brett Favre because my family are big Packer fans.

How would you describe yourself in three words? Determined, happy, friendly

What is your favorite subject in school? Math

Do you have a favorite sports memory that sticks out to you? In track sophomore year I was racing hte mile and within the first 200 my shoe came off. My coach told me to keep going and I ended up getting a personal record that race.

What is your favorite quote, and who said it? "Faith makes everything possible." -My best friend/teammate Madison Ihrke

What song do you listen to before games to get you pumped up? "Lose Yourself" by Eminem

If you could visit any place in the world, where would you go and why? Greece, because it is gorgeous!

What are your plans next year? I plan to go to college—either the University of Wisconsin-Lacrosse or Winona State University—and major in nursing. I think I want to run in college for a team... we'll see!

How would you describe yourself in three words? Determined, hard-working, happy

What is your favorite subject in school? Mathematics

If you could be someone else for a day, who would you be? A professional dancer because I love dance and wish I was better at it.

What song do you listen to before games to get you pumped up? "Stronger" by Kanye West

What has been the most exciting moment in your life so far? My mission trip to West Virginia last summer, while helping out their community and growing in my faith.

What are your plans next year? Going to University of St. Thomas or the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and majoring in business/accounting.
