Some Get-Out Options for Your Holiday Weekend
Many of you will be lying low with family and friends this weekend, but there are still activities in the area to get you out of the house to continue the family fun.

Why Go: Catch some final sports action before the holiday weekend sets in. The Lightning are 5-0 this season, and Drake-bound senior Joey King is averaging almost 30 points a game.
Price: $7 for adults, $5 for students and senior citizens
3. "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol" The IMAX Experience
When/Where: Various times Friday, Saturday, Sunday; , Apple Valley
Why Go: You won't just see the Mission: Impossible feature—you'll also get to watch the six-minute opening of The Dark Knight Rises to preview the feature film (an exclusive at Great Clips IMAX).

4. Visit a Zoo
When/Where: Friday, Saturday at the ; Friday, Saturday, Sunday at the Como Zoo in St. Paul
Why Go: The animals are just as entertaining during the holidays. The Minnesota Zoo is closed only on Christmas Day this weekend, while the Como Zoo is open 365 days a year.

5. See an Anticipated Cinematic Release
When/Where: Friday, Saturday, Sunday; , Apple Valley
Why Go: Heading out to the movies is part of the Christmas day tradition for many families. Hollywood has planned a handful of new releases around or on Christmas (Steven Spielberg's War Horse is slated for a Christmas day opening), and you can catch them at your local theater.
