Stock Up on Girl Scout Cookies Starting Saturday
The Valley Lake unit girl scouts and other troops around the area will begin selling their famous cookies on Saturday, through most of March. This year is the 100th anniversary of the Girl Scouts organization.
It's that time of year again—time to stock your pantry and freezer chock full of Thin Mints and Samoas cookies to last you the next several months.
The River Valleys Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin, which includes the Valley Lake service unit that serves girls in Apple Valley, launches its annual cookie sale Saturday. Valley Lake held its "cookie go-day" last week Friday to rally for the sale, which raises money for various troop activities.
The sale period goes through March 25. Booth sales at various stores in the area will begin Feb. 20. Cookies cost $3.50 per box.

A new cookie this year is the Savannah Smiles, a lemony cookie to help celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Girl Scouts organization.
