Stream Global Services Eyes Specific Apple Valley Locations for HQ, Call Center
The call center company is seeking help from the City of Apple Valley and a state grant program to move its 40-person headquarters and create a 300-employee call center in Apple Valley.

Call center company Stream Global Services is looking to put a 40-person headquarters in the building in Apple Valley, as well as create a 300-employee call center in the Time Square shopping center, according to a memo to the Apple Valley City Council.
Because of high costs of relocation and creating the call center, the company, which it would move its headquarters from the Boston area to Apple Valley, is seeking city and state assistance.

The city council is slated to hear more about Stream's request for a business subsidy at the council's 7 p.m. Thursday meeting at the .
According to the council memo, the state has made $1 million available to Stream Global Services through the Minnesota Investment Fund—which provides grants to add and retain workers in industrial, manufacturing and technology industries—to help with the purchase of equipment.

The MIF would award a grant to the city (through the state Department of Employment and Economic Development) if the city agrees to provide a loan for the business expansion project, the memo says.
For the city to submit an application for the grant, a public hearing is required, which is slated to happen at Thursday's council meeting.
Stream Global Services is "a premium business process outsource (BPO) service provider specializing in customer relationship management including sales, customer care and technical support for Fortune 1000 companies," according to its website.
It employs about 30,000 people in 22 countries. Stream's clients include companies in technology, software, entertainment and telecommunications and more.
Apple Valley is home to Stream CEO Kathy Marinello, who attended Apple Valley's State of the City address and Apple Valley Chamber of Commerce luncheon in March for the announcement.
