UPDATE, PHOTOS: Apple Valley House Significantly Damaged by Fire; Residents Get Out Uninjured
The fire broke out around 5:45 p.m. Wednesday; all occupants made it out safely and the fire was contained in about 40 minutes.
UPDATE 7:40 p.m. Wednesday: Thirty-two worked for 40 minutes to control a house fire in the 14700 block of Hallmark Drive on Wednesday evening.
The home's occupants made it out safely and uninjured, Apple Valley Fire Chief Nealon Thompson said, but the fire consumed a "significant portion" of the home. There was also some minor heat damage to a neighboring home, Thompson said.

Thompson said the fire's cause is still unknown.
The fire broke out just before 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, Thompson said, and rose to three alarms. The Apple Valley police officer who first arrived on the scene reported seeing flames and smoke visible from outside the house, Thompson said.

Because of the heat outside, fire crews rotate working on the scene about every 15 minutes, Thompson said.

6:30 p.m. Wednesday: Firefighters were working Wednesday evening to extinguish a two-alarm house fire in the 14700 block of Hallmark Drive in Apple Valley, according to a Twin Cities Fire Wire report.
The fire apparently broke out around 5:45 p.m., according to police scanner reports.
