Warrant Issued for Predatory Offender Who Intended to Live in Rosemount
Aaron Ramon McCauley told authorities he planned to live in Rosemount after his release earlier this year from the prison in Stillwater.

A nationwide arrest warrant has been issued for a convicted predatory offender who told authorities that he planned to move to Rosemount, but later told them that his girlfriend had “kicked him out” and he was homeless.
Aaron Ramon McCauley, 40, faces a felony charge of failing to provide notice of change of address as a sex offender, which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
According to the criminal complaint, McCauley – whose criminal record includes convictions for kidnapping in Dakota County in 1996, and making terroristic threats in Rice County in 2001 – began registering as a predatory offender in 2003 upon his release from the prison in Stillwater.

McCauley initially was required to register as a predatory offender, but he was periodically convicted of other offenses and sent to prison, and his registration period was extended beyond 2013.
One of the requirements of his release was that he provide written notice of a new primary address to law enforcement authorities at least five days before moving.

On June 29, McCauley notified authorities in writing that he would be moving out of Woodbury and, as of July 10, would be living at a home on 137th Street West in Rosemount.
Rosemount police were notified July 12 of McCauley’s plans to move. On July 27, a Rosemount officer met with the homeowner of the listed address, who told police that she and McCauley had been dating, but had never moved into her home.
The woman told police that she and McCauley were no longer dating and that she wouldn’t allow him to live in her home.
She also told police that on July 7, McCauley sent her an envelope and asked her to mail it from her home. She said she thought it had to do with paperwork for the state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA), but she didn’t look at it.
The woman said the last contact she had with McCauley was via e-mail on July 10.
McCauley returned a phone call to Rosemount police on July 28, telling them that he had been homeless for “a few days” because he had been “kicked out.” He told the officer that he had notified the BCA of his homeless status, but BCA authorities said they hadn’t heard from him.
McCauley said he planned to collect his belongings from Minneapolis and move to Faribault “shortly.” Authorities have been unable to locate him since.
