Westview Elementary Collects 2,000+ Items for Food Drive

Students brought in the items for the fourth Gobble Gobble Give food drive in just a week's time.

students brought in more than 2,000 nonperishable food items in a week's time for the fourth-annual Gobble Gobble Give food drive.

The drive is run by the Westview student council.

In addition to bringing in the food, there's a friendly competition between classes to see who can collect the most items, wrote Molly Anderson, the school's gifted and talented coordinator.

Each day, staff updated a turkey bar graph in the main hallway; students loved seeing it grow and watching the collection of food grow in the library.

Food from the drive is given to families in the school community, Anderson wrote.
