Why Go: Every other Friday, explore by ski or snowshoe the regional park that spans Apple Valley and Eagan. Use a headlamp or the moonlight to find your way along the trails.

Why Go: Support students by purchasing merchandise on Friday, or online in the following days.

When/Where: 7 p.m. Friday, 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, 1 and 4:30 p.m. Sunday; Burnsville Performing Arts Center, Burnsville
Why Go: Not only will you experience a holiday season staple at this classic ballet, you'll be supporting local dance students and professional dancers who are part of the ensemble.
Price: Orchestra section: $26 for adults, $21 for children and seniors; Balcony: $16 for adults, $12 for children and seniors

Why Go: Watch local high school students use their acting and musical talents to make the magic of Disney come alive on the Eastview theater stage (not to mention, catch some great elaborate costumes).

Why Go: Hear the stories of Mike Link and Kate Crowley, who hiked 1,550 miles in 145 days around the entirety of Lake Superior in the name of learning about water preservation.
