• Alpine Skiing: Brainerd's Grillo hopes to bring many more to state (brainerddispatch.com) — Brainerd’s alpine ski teams are gearing up for a new season, led by standout junior and returning state qualifier Piper Grillo and a deep roster of young Warriors. Coaches outline key skiers to watch, new Central Lakes Cup competitions, and two home meets at Mount Ski Gull, plus a new website where fans can follow results and even watch via live cam.
   

• Flying W Ranch receives honor at state SWCD annual convention (brainerddispatch.com) — A Pequot Lakes-area cattle operation with deep conservation roots just earned statewide recognition that Brainerd-area readers can be proud of. Flying W Ranch, west of Pequot Lakes, was honored at the Minnesota Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts convention as one of eight regional finalists in the 2025 Outstanding Conservationist Award Program, highlighting its soil health and rotational grazing work.
