The National Wether Service in Chanhassen released an alert this afternoon, warning residents in Dakota County  of a severe storm system which is sweeping through south and central Minnesota, bringing with it the possibility of large hail. Tornadoes could also pose a threat. The threat of severe weather will last until 8 pm though storms are possible throughout the night.
