BESSD 191: School Year Starts September 8 For Students With Some Exceptions
This includes Virtual Academy students. Families should watch for specific information from their child's school.

The 2021-22 school year will start on Wednesday, Sept. 8 in Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District 191 for most students, with a few exceptions.

- Kindergarten and first-grade students will start on Friday, Sept. 10 with Sept. 8 and 9 being used for individual conferences and assessments. This includes Virtual Academy students. Families should watch for specific information from their child’s school.
- Grades 7-8 at Eagle Ridge and Nicollet middle schools will start on Thursday, Sept. 9, as the first day of school will be for 6th graders and WEB leaders only. (All Virtual Academy middle school students will start school on Sept. 8.)
- At Burnsville High School, Grades 10-12 will start on Thursday, Sept. 9, as the first day of school will be for 9th graders and LINK leaders only. (All BAHS and Virtual Academy high school students will start on Sept. 8.)
- Preschool programs will start on Tuesday, Sept. 14.
Adult Basic Education (ABE) classes begin Sept. 8-9 with student orientation. Students can also attend morning or afternoon orientation days on Sept. 13, 20 or 27.
Students in the Burnsville-Eagan-Savage Transition (BEST) program will start on Sept. 8 at the school’s new location in Diamondhead Education Center, 200 W. Burnsville Pkwy. Students should enter Door #2, located on the upper level, west of the main building entrance.
