Burnsville Lake Closed Due To E. Coli Levels

The beach will reopen when bacteria levels return to safe levels.

BURNSVILLE, MN — Crystal Lake and its connecting beach in Burnsville are closed until further notice due to high levels of E. coli being found, the city said.

The beach will reopen when bacteria levels return to safe levels determined by state guidelines, the city said.

High levels of E. coli could mean the lake is contaminated by decaying matter and animals, the city said. High temperatures could also contribute to the high bacteria levels, the city said.
