Goat Grazing Returns To Burnsville

The goats are eliminating buckthorn at Civic Center Park.

BURNSVILLE, MN — Grazing goats are back in Burnsville, the city said.

The goats arrived at Civic Center Park Wednesday and will graze there for up to two weeks, the city said.

They are eating invasive species such as Buckthorn, according to the city.

The city of Burnsville said it is testing using goats as a habitat management tool. The project began in 2019 when goats were used for Buckthorn at Rudy Kraemer Nature Preserve, the city said.
