• Historical society's local artists exhibit closes soon (hometownsource.com) — Chaska residents still have a couple of weeks to see neighbor Liya Lev Oertel’s artwork featured in the “Creating in Carver County” exhibit at the Carver County Historical Society Museum. The show highlights more than a dozen local artists working in painting, photography, and mixed media, and several pieces are for sale, offering a chance to find unique, locally made holiday gifts while supporting area creatives.
   

• USA after redemption, not a three-peat, at 2026 World Juniors (duluthnewstribune.com) — Two Chaska natives, forward Brodie Ziemer and defenseman Adam Kleber, are skating for spots on Team USA’s roster for the 2026 World Junior Championship in Minneapolis–St. Paul. The squad is practicing this week in Duluth, driven by a desire to avenge a painful U18 gold-medal loss to Canada and chase another world title on home ice.

• Last week I got some Dairy Queen chicken strip baskets w gravy at the Chaska store as we have done for years.
