If that old Schwinn didn’t sell at your last garage sale, consider donating it to a great cause. Rick Anderson is seeking bike donations for his 5th annual bike sale benefiting
Kids ‘n Kinship, a local non-profit mentoring program in Dakota County. In all, Rick has raised more than $22,000 dollars in his first four sales and is looking to continue helping the program he so strongly believes in. Rick refurbished, sold, and donated 155 bikes last year and is looking for more for his next sale which will be held in the spring of 2013.
Rick accepts complete bikes of all makes and models from children’s first bikes to high end
road and mountain bikes. His love of biking, time spent with great kids, and bringing bicycles back to life leads him to spend his winters out in the garage tinkering with brakes and fixing chains. If
you have a bicycle gathering dust it would certainly look better in the hands of thankful child. Rick will begin taking donations on October 1st and will continue until he has more than he can handle!
Rick can be reached by phone or email to setup a pickup or drop off time. For more information on Kids ‘n Kinship visit their website www.kidsnkinship.org. Details on the 2013 sale will be released at a later date. Thank you for your support.
Kids 'n Kinship is a private non-profit organization that matches children who have a need for an additional supportive relationship with carefully screened adult volunteers. Once a match has been made, volunteers spend 1-4 hours per week with the child. Typical activities might include picnicking, attending sporting events, sharing interests or going to the movies. Volunteers make a one-year commitment to the program. These relationships often grow into life-long friendships. We serve children in the communities of Apple Valley, Burnsville, Eagan, Farmington, Lakeville and Rosemount. See more at: www.kidsnkinship.org/
