Colleen Sexton to Lead Eagan YMCA's Annual Giving Campaign

Eagan community and business leader Colleen Sexton, a manager with Destron Fearing Corporation, will chair the 2013 Y Partners Annual Giving Campaign for the YMCA in Eagan.  The campaign has set a goal of $115,000.

Impressed with the quality of Eagan Y childcare programs for her own children, Sexton has volunteered time and marketing skills over the past decade to raise awareness of the high level childcare programs and the need for donations to help families in need.

“We are excited Colleen will lead our Y Partners campaign,” said Nyam Smith, executive director of the Eagan Y.  “Her experience with Y programs and enthusiasm make her the perfect fit.”

The 2013 Y Partners funds will provide scholarships for individuals and families who need financial assistance to be involved with YMCA programs.  The strongest need is to supplement childcare services. Eagan Y programs serve over 1800 children daily in 17 local elementary schools and an Early Childhood Learning Childcare adjacent to the Eagan Y.  As of September 2012, a total of more than $360,890 in scholarships have been provided to individuals and families in need.

Sexton is a commercial services and brand manager at Destron Fearing Corporation in South St. Paul, a manufacturer of animal identification and recovery products started in 1945 that supports wildlife management and animal husbandry programs worldwide.  Sexton and her husband, John, make their home in Eagan and have two children, Alexa and Jake
