Comcast Employees Volunteering at Lewis House in Eagan

Team leader Tom Henchel and 25 additional Comcast volunteers will give the families at Lewis House in Eagan a break from housekeeping on April 21 by folding laundry, vacuuming, cleaning the kitchen, raking the yard and planting flowers.

“Families served at Lewis House are under a lot of stress,” said Henchel.  “They need time to relax together and be free of chores for a period of time.  We are glad to do that for them.”

“I’ve been a team leader at Lewis House for Comcast Cares Day before,” continued Henchel.  “The work 360 Communities does here helping families is very important.”

360 Communities Director of Violence Prevention Ann Sheridan says Comcast volunteers make a difference.  “Comcast volunteers give valuable time and energy to us; but more importantly, they show us they care about the communities in which they live and their neighbors who are staying at Lewis House,” says Sheridan.  “We appreciate the steadfast commitment Comcast volunteers have shown our shelters over the years.”

On Saturday, April 21, Henchel and 33 other site coordinators will lead more than 1300 Comcast employees, their families and friends for a morning of volunteering for 24 nonprofits in the Twin Cities area.   This is the 11th annual event for Comcast to reach out and work for nonprofits.
