Express Employment Professionals and Simon Says Give Partner to Collect Books and School Supplies for Children

A staffing company that helps as many people as possible find good jobs is teaming up with a nine-year-old young entrepreneur to collect books and school supplies for children ages 5 to 12 in the Eagan community.

Express Employment Professionals and Simon Says Give are collecting supplies between now and Dec. 15 to help children who are in need.

Simon Says Give was founded earlier in 2012 by Mandi Simon, 9, who wanted to make the world a better place. She set a goal of providing 25 birthday parties and distributing 50 backpacks for back-to-school in the first year. But thanks to Express, there may be much more than that for the volunteers to pack.

Between now and Dec. 15, Express Employment Professionals will distribute more than 100 Simon Says Give collection boxes to their clients, asking them to donate books and school supplies for the cause. On Dec. 15 the boxes of supplies will be delivered to Simon, the charity’s founder and chief charity officer, and her volunteers for distribution.

Simon Says Give collects new and gently used backpacks, books, school supplies and birthday presents to distribute to kids in need. Volunteers of any age can help with packing, fundraising and throwing birthday parties for the children.

“Mandi is so inspiring, we couldn’t help but support her efforts to help others in need,” said Jim Johnson, Express franchisee. “It’s such a privilege to partner with Simon Says Give.”

Simon Says Give is a 501(c)3 non-profit company aimed at showing kids how to help other kids. The purpose of Simon Says Give is to give any child or adult looking to help people, the
