Recent Retiree Opens In-Home Care Business in Eagan

As a senior himself, Stephen Endrizzi knows first-hand the importance of in-home care services. “I am a senior serving seniors,” said Endrizzi, owner of ComForcare Senior Services, a provider of private-duty, non-medical home care in Eagan. “I understand what the seniors are going through; I can relate.”

After retiring from a 40-year career in the industrial sales industry, Endrizzi spent time thinking about his next steps. In addition to volunteer work, he wanted something that would occupy his free time during the day—something that would allow him an opportunity to make a difference. After spending a year discussing opportunities with consultants, Endrizzi met several people who suggested buying a franchise because of the industry’s good support system and interesting concepts. Endrizzi went through a series of tests to determine what concept would be his perfect fit and narrowed the list down to three. When his wife Martha expressed interest in helping him with the business, he knew ComForcare Senior Services was the right choice. Both he and his wife Martha have both experiences caregiver needs with family members using homecare and hospice. It seemed only fitting that Endrizzi chose a homecare concept.

Stephen and Martha took the leap and opened ComForcare in Eagan in May. The company provides in-home care to the residents of Dakota County including Eagan, Lakeville, Hastings, Farmington, Burnsville, Apple Valley, Rosemount, West St. Paul, Inver Grove Heights, Lilydale, Sunfish Lake, Elko, and New Market and Prior Lake in Scott County. Caregivers assist people with activities of daily living such as grooming and hygiene, meal preparation and light housekeeping.  

Endrizzi’s ComForcare has been open for six months and he believes that his good business background works in his favor. “It is important to establish yourself as an expert in the area,” said Endrizzi. “Knowing the business aspect helps ensure current and potential clients that they are getting the best services from the best people.”

 For the near future, Endrizzi, who also is a Certified Senior Advisor, wants to maintain the location that he currently has. Because they work in clients’ homes, he wants to focus mainly on guaranteeing that his C.N.A. caregivers can get to homes in the territories ComForcare serves currently.
