Scholarship Applications Due May 17 for New, Returning Inver Hills Students

New and returning Inver Hills Community College students who want to apply for scholarships from the Inver Hills Foundation for the fall 2012 semester must do so by the May 17 application deadline.

Many general scholarships are available, as well as several directed toward individual groups of students—including those studying specific programs (business, nursing, science, technology, engineering and math), living in certain communities (Rosemount and Eagan) and those who are enrolled part time.

The Inver Hills Foundation awarded scholarships to 324 students during the 2010-11 academic year, totaling $168,000.

Students fill out one application per semester to be considered for all scholarships, and can receive one scholarship per semester. Applications generally are evaluated based on six criteria: scholastic achievement, career goals, financial need, recommendations and honors, campus or community service and leadership, and life circumstances.

To access a printable version of the application and see a full list of scholarships available, visit www.inverhills.edu/foundation/scholarships.aspx. Paper copies also are available on campus at the Information Center or The Link, both located on the second floor of the College Center, or in the administration offices in the Liberal Arts building.
