An Apple Valley-based wholesale scrapbook supply company recently teamed with fans of its products to contribute nearly a half-ton of food and household items to the Shepherd of the Valley/Our Daily Bread Food Shelf, which serves Dakota County and the surrounding area.
October Afternoon, located at 5708 Upper 147th Street West, held its annual warehouse sale Oct. 25-28. Fans of the company’s product lines were given the opportunity to have a 3-hour “early-bird” shopping experience on Thursday, Oct. 25, in exchange for a contribution of non-perishable food or household items to the food shelf.
According to Jon Denton, owner and CEO of October Afternoon, more than 200 people attended the early-bird sale. Those shoppers contributed a total of 840 pounds of items to the food shelf.
“The response from our customers was overwhelming, with all the early-bird shoppers donating one and sometimes two bags of items to help the food shelf,” said Denton. “October Afternoon is proud to have been able to assist the food shelf in this way, and equally proud of our loyal fans and customers for their generosity.”
Founded in 2006, October Afternoon specializes in the creation and wholesale distribution of original designs and quality scrapbooking products. The company supplies scrapbooking stores across the United States and in more than a dozen foreign countries.
