Last fall, Twin Cities entrepreneur, Jody Delorit, was asked by TST Media to add her special flair to the Seventh Annual U.S. Pond Hockey Championships held in Minneapolis in January and she delivered. Taking charge of the warming tent and amenities for spectators, Delorit handled all the details from heating units to food and beverage service, while serving as a liaison to sponsors and vendors. In addition, Delorit assembled her WOW Factor Sports Girlz Performance Team to circulate among the crowd to collect donations totaling $2,630 for the nonprofit urban youth hockey organization DinoMights .
"Jody's incredible organization skills, along with her attention to detail, helped make this year's U.S. Pond Hockey Championships an incredible success," said Carson Kipfer, USPHC Co-Commissioner. "Jody is one of those rare individuals who continually over-delivers. She is an absolute joy to work with."
Delorit’s successful partnership with TST Media and USPHC is already yielding more opportunities for her company, WOW Factor Sports Inc.
As owner and executive event producer at WOW Factor Sports Inc., Delorit, 38, has had direct impact on sports programs, events and associations in North America for nearly twenty years. During her career as an executive producer, Delorit has created and produced multiple events, from inception through completion, for 10 to 20,000+ attendees. “I’m proud to ‘work’ in such an amazing industry,” Delorit says. “My goal is to surprise participants and spectators with more fun than they would ever expect and to make their experience memorable for all the right reasons.”
In its debut season, WOW Factor Sports has produced numerous dance and cheerleading events, including a partnership with the Minnesota Timberwolves, at Target Center in Minneapolis, in December, 2011, and several one-day intensive training clinics around the Twin Cities metro area. More than 1,000 athletes from Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin and Canada will compete at the inaugural WOW Factor Sports Cheer and Dance Nationals at the Minneapolis Convention Center, February 10-12, 2012. WOW Factor Sports is already more than a cheerleading or dance competition company. Its broader mission is expected to encompass event production for a full spectrum of sports: including basketball, fastpitch softball, gymnastics, hockey and volleyball.
