Blotter: Garage Goes Up in Flames, Only Hydrant Blocked by Truck
Thanks to an inconveniently parked vehicle, emergency responders had to use a garden hose to fight the fire, which involved gasoline and other highly flammable materials.

A garage on the 3000 block of McCarthy Ridge Road was destroyed by fire after emergency crews were stymied by a truck parked over the only available hydrant.
The Eagan Police Department reports that the fire was called in on the afternoon of Aug. 31, around 5:08 p.m. A tractor vehicle was inside, fully engulfed in flames when responders arrived. The nearest hydrant was blocked by a truck, so emergency responders on the scene had to use a garden hose to quench the flames. Someone was evidently welding in the garage shortly before the fire started.
