Eagan Child Pornography Suspect Arrested

An Eagan man being sought on child pornography charges has been arrested. 

Eric Andrew Hanson, 23, was arrested just before 6 a.m. Monday in Hastings. He remained in the Dakota County Jail this morning and was scheduled to make a first appearance today in Dakota County District Court in Hastings.

Hanson is charged with four counts of possession of pornography involving minors, each of which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.

Authorities say they found 589 images of child pornography, many of them involving boys as young as 8, on an external hard drive in Hanson’s bedroom.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children identified 134 of the image files and 17 video files as child victims.
