• Grace Slavic Church congregation finding hope after devastating fire (kstp.com) — A devastating pre-Christmas fire heavily damaged Grace Slavic Church in Eagan, but the congregation and wider community are already rallying to help them rebuild. Neighbors, other churches, and even local firefighters have offered space and support while insurance and fundraising efforts, including a GoFundMe, get underway. Church members say their faith and community spirit remain strong despite losing nearly everything inside.
   

• Pathways pioneer, ambassador for 191 retiring (hometownsource.com) — A longtime Eagan resident and educator, Kathy Funston, is retiring after shaping the Pathways career programs in Burnsville-Eagan-Savage District 191 and previously serving in Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan District 196. Her work connected local schools with businesses, colleges, and nonprofits to expand career-focused courses and partnerships. Community leaders credit her with helping make the district’s high school a regional “shining star.”
   

• Minnesota Farm Bureau Announces New LeadAg Institute Program Participants - Randolph-Hampton-Castle Rock Messenger (randolphmn.com) — From Eagan, the Minnesota Farm Bureau has named six inaugural participants in its new LeadAg Institute, a leadership program for emerging agricultural advocates. While the class members hail from across the state, the program’s Eagan-based launch underscores the city’s role in statewide farm policy training and could interest local residents connected to agriculture or Farm Bureau work.
