EAGAN, MN — 34-year-old Dereje Gonder Hirpa's cause of death has been identified as freshwater drowning by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner Thursday.Hirpa was <a href="https://patch.com/minnesota/eagan/man-recovered-schultz-lake-identified" target="_blank">identified by the Dakota County Sheriff's Department Tuesday</a>, but no cause of death had been released at that time.Hirpa was last seen on security cameras walking toward the beach Aug. 1 holding a towel, officials said. His body was later recovered from the swimming area Aug. 3 by the Eagan Fire Department.
