Eagan Police Officer Honored for Rescuing Pup From Engulfed Home

Three years later, a local police officer received praise for his selfless sacrifice that saved beloved house pet from a fire.

An Eagan family honored a police officer this past week who rescued their kenneled dog, Frankie, from a devastating 2013 house fire.

Gordon and Kathy Finley lost everything but the then 2-year-old dog in the blaze, which ignited after their hot tub malfunctioned, according to a CBS report. The couple wasn't home at the time, but Frankie was.

Police officer Joe Moseng arrived on scene and kicked in the front door. In doing so, he created an exit for Frankie who had escaped his kennel. The Finleys honored Moseng this week before the Eagan City Council.
