• Eagan church fire: Grace Slavic Church flames believed to have been sparked by Christmas decorations (fox9.com) — A fire at Grace Slavic Church in Eagan late Friday afternoon is believed to have started in Christmas decorations at the back of the building, according to city officials. Firefighters saw flames and smoke coming through the roof, but the two people inside escaped unharmed. Authorities are still assessing how much damage the church sustained.
   

• Vikings' team plane returns to airport after takeoff (espn.com) — Minnesota Vikings staff in Eagan confirmed the team’s charter plane had to return to Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport on Saturday after mechanical issues shortly after takeoff. Players and coaches planned to switch to another plane and still reach New Jersey in time for Sunday’s game against the Giants. The incident did not affect their remaining home games in Minnesota.
