Heat Advisory Issued for Eagan, Twin Cities Metro
Eagan is in for a brief blast of heat that could push the mercury up to 98 degrees.

Eagan is in for a late summer heat wave.
Around 10 p.m. on Sunday, the National Weather Service issued a heat advisory for the town and the rest of the Twin Cities area. The advisory will be effective from noon to 8 p.m. on Monday. In Eagan, the day will likely start out cloudy, then become sunny, humid and hot, with a high near 98. The heat index is likely to reach 101 degrees.
The warm snap will be brief. A cold front is expected to sweep through on Tuesday. However, over Monday residents should take care to avoid heat-related illnesses, which can become particularly acute in children and the elderly. Otherwise healthy adults are advised to stay indoors in an air-conditioned space, drink plenty of water and wear loose, light clothing. If possible, avoid strenuous outdoor activity. If working outside is a necessity, the NWS recommends rescheduling the work to the early morning or evening hours.
