Man Threatened To Set Eagan Home On Fire: Police

Police negotiated for hours with a man who they say was pouring gasoline inside a home in Eagan and threatening to set it on fire.

EAGAN, MN — Police on Sunday negotiated with a man who was threatening to set a home on Jurdy Road on fire, according to police.

The person who called 911 told officers that they woke up to the man pouring gasoline inside the home and threatening to set it on fire, according to police.

Police said they could smell gasoline at the residence, police said.

The residents of the home were able to get out, leaving the man the only one still inside, according to police.

Eagan officers negotiated with the man for 12 hours, finally getting him to leave the home at 6 p.m. Sunday night, police said. The man will be evaluated by medical staff, according to police.
