This quote is from March 9th, 2022, by Jason La Canfora from CBS Sports. Vikings fans knew change was on the horizon, but La Canfora’s sources reveal the true potential gravity.

This is obviously a gigantic news nugget if La Canfora’s sources are accurate. From the day the franchise fired Rick Spielman and Mike Zimmer, a new day was evident — and that might even extend the team’s nucleus of longtime superstar players.

The explanation is simple. Most of the men mentioned by La Canfora are “old” for their position. They’re expensive as well. If Adofo-Mensah trades the men, he can extract draft capital while alleviating pressure on the salary cap.

The idea of those particular names leaving via trade might be dreadful for some, but this is how change occurs when new leaders begin calling the shots.

It was never going to ZimmerBall with a different head coach.
