Weekend Planner: Last Chance to Cool Off at Cascade Bay

Also this weekend: The Minnesota Renaissance Fair hosts a Fairy Festival.

Cascade Bay
This is the last weekend to enjoy the water at Cascade Bay. The last day of the season will be Labor Day, Sept. 2. The park will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $8 to $10. Infants under 18 months get in free.

Fairy Festival at the Minnesota Renaissance Fair

Ren Fair revelers are in for an especially enchanted weekend. This week's theme centers around the fay folk, as they are sometimes known. There will be a Fairy Tea Party (12 p.m. and 3 p.m. in the Special Events Field), fairy wand and pirate hat making, a costume parade for kids (participants should meet at 1:30 p.m. by the front gate), a Fairy House Competition and more.

Interaction & Fusion

Time is also running out at the latest visual arts exhibit at the Burnsville Performing Arts Center (BPAC). “Interaction & Fusion” features work by artists Geneva Costa and Sara Hanlon. The display be up through Sept. 8.
