No more merit pay, company 401(k) matches for salaried SuperValu employees

Supervalu has announced that some salaried employees will start receiving paychecks once a month instead of every week in 2013, according to a report from Reuters. "Salaried office workers of the struggling grocery giant SuperValu will see an end to merit pay, company matches to 401(k) plans and for some even a shift from weekly to once a month paychecks, according to a letter sent to workers this week."

SuperValu will transfer some finance jobs to a third-party vendor

In another memo to employees, Group Vice President/Corporate Controller Keith Kravcik said eight finance jobs will be eliminated and transferred to a "third-party vendor over the next two months." The move is expected to decrease operating costs, Kravcik's memo said.

We assessed whether outsourcing certain data entry positions within the Finance-Central Deal Input department could result in cost savings to the business without sacrificing accuracy, effectiveness and efficiency. Therefore, we’ll be engaging Cognizant to provide these data entry functions as well.

MTS Systems Corp. reports higher revenues, profit

HeraldOnline.com reports the Eden Prairie company's net income in the fourth quarter was $15.25 million, compared to last year at this time. "Revenue for the quarter rose 5 percent, to $137.84 million from $131.60 million in the year-ago period."

Eden Prairie Woman One Of Four 'Top Women In Finance'

Four U.S. Bank executives in the Twin Cities metropolitan area, including Eden Prairie resident Charlene Altman, are among the “2012 Top Women In Finance” as determined by Finance & Commerce, a Minneapolis-based daily business publication.

City website wins two MarCom awards

The website, which launched in April, received the following awards, according to the Friday Report by Rick Getschow, city manager:

  • The Gold Award in the Website/Government category
  • Honorable Mention in the Design (Web)/Website category

The MarCom Awards honor excellence in marketing and communications.

Rick Getschow congratulated communications employees Joyce Lorenz, Katie Beal, Kari Spreeman and Sarah Mitchell.

Several new remodeling, construction projects in the city

In the same report, City Manager Rick Getschow listed several current construction and remodeling projects in Eden Prairie:

  • C.H. Robinson building on Charlson Road
  • Sanctuary Salon and Spa is doing a $581,996 building remodel at 995 Prairie Center Drive

  • Dos Manitas Daycare at 7701 Cochran Lane
  • Fafinski Mark & Johnson law firm at 775 Prairie Center Drive
