October Meeting Changes
The Oct. 4 Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Commission meeting has been canceled; the next meeting is scheduled for Monday, Nov.1.
The Oct. 5 City Council Workshop and Meeting have been canceled. The Oct. 19 City Council Workshop and Meeting have been rescheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 26.
The Oct. 11 Planning Commission meeting has been canceled; the next meeting is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 25.
Fall into Fitness
On Saturday, Oct. 9, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Community Center, participate in sampler classes of new group fitness offerings, tour the state-of-the-art facility, meet instructors and much more. During the Fall into Fitness event, the new-member enrollment fee is waived. Tours are available every 30 minutes from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Citywide Open House
Come to the all-outdoors Citywide Open House Saturday, Oct. 9 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the City Center. Get an up-close and personal look at what it takes to operate a city of nearly 65,000 residents and 3,000 businesses. Highlights include exhibits, demonstrations, City vehicles and equipment, and more.
Harvest to Halloween at the Barn
Attend this year's free fall and Halloween event that's fun for the entire family. On Saturday, Oct. 16 at Riley Lake Park from 4-8 p.m., there will be pumpkin decorating, family activities and games, story stroll, scavenger hunt and a glow in-the-dark dance party at the barn after dark.
Not-So-Scary Nature Trail
Sign up for the Outdoor Center's Not-So-Scary Nature Trail and learn about all the not-so-scary things associated with Halloween. This educational event is Saturday, Oct. 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Outdoor Center. Arrive any time during your 30-minute time slot to begin your adventure. Walk the lantern-lit trail and learn about bats, owls, snakes, eagles and so much more while collecting a Halloween treat at each station. Registration required.
