City Hosts Green Mid-Market Neighborhood Meeting Tuesday

The city would like public input prior to releasing a Request for Proposals to developers who would create concept plans for the neighborhood.

From the city of Eden Prairie:

The City of Eden Prairie is hosting a neighborhood meeting about a Green Mid-Market Neighborhood Development initiative from 5 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23 at the Eden Prairie City Center (8080 Mitchell Road) in the Heritage Rooms.

A Green Mid-Market Neighborhood is being considered for the vacant land at the southwest corner of Eden Prairie Road and Scenic Heights Road. The intent is to create a new neighborhood of primarily single-family homes with sustainable features such as high energy efficiency. Price ranges are expected to be similar to the existing homes in the adjacent neighborhood. A small, neighborhood commercial component and/or attached housing might be considered for a portion of the property closest to the corner of Eden Prairie Road and Scenic Heights Road.

The city would like public input prior to releasing a Request for Proposals (RFP) to developers who would create concept plans for the neighborhood. The meeting will start with a 30-minute presentation about the city’s goals for the project and draft criteria for selecting a developer, followed by an opportunity for residents to ask questions and provide initial feedback. Additional neighborhood input opportunities will occur after concept plans are created.
