Cornerstone to Hold Candlelight Vigil for Domestic Violence Victims
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

A public vigil and candle lighting ceremony will be held in Eden Prairie next month to honor the individuals and families affected by domestic abuse and violence in Minnesota.
According to a release, Cornerstone—an organization working to prevent domestic abuse, as well as educate and advocate for social change—is hosting the event from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Oct. 7 at Purgatory Creek Park Pavilion, 13001 Technology Dr. in Eden Prairie:
"The vigil marks the start of Domestic Violence Awareness Month and will reflect the communities’ commitment to creating a society in which violence in families and relationships no longer exists.
"Joining the Cornerstone vigil are families who have lost loved ones to domestic violence in 2013."
According to Cornerstone, domestic abuse and violence has claimed the lives of more than 30 victims in Minnesota so far this year, surpassing the number of domestic violence-related homicides in 2012.
